Who is this unmasked man?

An artist, a daddy, a husband, an emcee and Super DJ -- hey wait a minute. There's something else. Behind those eyes of a responsible man (who married not his high school sweetheart but his junior high school sweetheart he's known since he was 3 minutes old) is a mask of mischief. He wore that mask proudly on the day in shop class when he pretended to cut his finger off with a paper cutter then threw the fake-bloody stump at his teacher. Once the teacher (who Solomon recalls as “Mr. Lecter”) regained consciousness, he confiscated the finger and had Solomon write “I will not scare the crap out of my teacher” approximately 1000 times.

Like any energy, it can have positive and negative applications. For example, being mischeivous has helped him learn to be very quick on his feet -- and he uses that to your advantage.

Consider a wedding he performed at on a beach at Half Moon Bay. He arrives and notices the beach is pretty rustic -- a bit more than the groom had described in the meeting. Sol checks in with Ranger Roy (aka: “RR”) to see where to set up. RR says, sorry Charlie, these folks didn't get a sound permit. Uh oh #1. The groom arrives. The beach is, in fact, a bit more rustic than he thought it would be too. Uh oh #2. T-minus 30 minutes to the bride's arrival -- Uh oh #3!

Thinking quick on his feet, Sol asks RR what they can do. RR says, “Anything you'd normally do at a beach.” Cool. Solomon takes the driftwood and forms an aisle to walk down and rows for the guests. He uses some bins and beach towels from his truck for guests who may want to sit. And then, the coup de gras: he breaks out the boom box and goes John Cusack/Say Anything on them all during the ceremony -- holding it high above his head to give them the perfect moment.

Mr. Mischief saved their day. Not bad for a guy with nine fingers.

"Solomon was beyond awesome!!!! he was everything the kids wanted and more!!! Due to some unforeseen (ceremony) glitches, he was able to accommodate many changes without anyone even noticing. I would hire him for any party."

"We just got back from the honeymoon. But I did want to tell you that the wedding was wonderful. You guys did a great job and Solomon far exceeded our expectations. He made the wedding so much fun. Everyone had a blast. I was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much!"

"We were beyond pleased with the entire event. Solomon and his crew were outstanding. I feel like they were hand-picked for Halie's Bat Mitzvah celebration and fit in so well that they could just as easily been guests. We had articulated to Solomon what had desired for the tone of the event, they surpassed all of our expectations. Everyone has commented on how he and his group engaged our guests and got them participating in the activities. Even more was the way they were able to project the perfect balance of warmth and family-oriented, child-centered fun (but not too young; so the teens still participated).

The Photo bar was a huge success. Everyone loved being able to take a fun favor with them, and David and Jessica were charming. Even people who don't usually say nice things about anything, commented on how engaging and fun they were. As I indicated to Addington, as soon as we know the date of our son's Bar Mitzvah, we will be booking you as our entertainment, and definitely want the photo bar as an additional activity. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You"

"The event was terrific, in no small part to Solomon, Brian and Patricia. The four hours flew by in no time, and everyone really enjoyed the energy of the music, dancing and games. It was a perfect balance for the different audiences (kids, adults, seniors) and we received several compliments and requests for referrals (which we're glad to do!) Jonny said afterwards that it was the best day of his life, so mission accomplished! Thanks again. Our only regret is that we don't have any more kids who will be bar mitzvahed :)"

"The wedding was great and we had so much fun! I can't begin to tell how much both, Tim and I, liked Solomon and his work. I must admit that I did have SOME expectations, but not only did Solomon meet my expectations, he exceeded them. He made it so much fun and was very subtle about all the little games and interaction, which is exactly what I requested. It was the PERFECT dose of communication and interaction all the guests needed. His suggestions through out the reception made me really enjoy the reception (I was slightly cranky). His demeanor and professional appearance and everything about him made me relax and I really started to enjoy every single moment. Believe it or not, the wedding day was NOT a blur to me so I remember a lot that happened. Going back to his work, I believe the groomsmen seemed like they were having a blast with him too. I canceled the first dance, and to make the story short, I think the groomsmen and Solomon tricked me and somehow Tim and I ended having the first dance after all.

Thank you so much for making it such a memorable moment for us!!! I keep saying this and I know it gets old, but... YOU GUYS SO RULE!!!"

"They were so great! Solomon was responsive and great with the kids not to mention me! A number of people commented about how great they were. I am happy to write a testimonial and say that if you are lucky enough to book Solomon, the dJ is one thing about the party you definitely do not have to worry about!"

"There is definitely a buzz. I am so glad I chose Denon and Doyle. Everyone was great from the beginning. From Mark Addington on the phone to you meeting at the office. You guys really helped me out especially since I didn't have a "party planner". Having Solomon meet at our house to discuss timeline was awesome. It made us feel much better about the evening. Then the actually evening was like a dream come true for Rebecca, and our family. Brian was great as DJ, and Ari is an amazing dancer. Without a doubt Solomon was the greatest MC we could have imagined. He kept the party going, the timeline was just right. His energy was so great. The adults thought he was just great and the kids loved him and had so much fun. Rebecca was the first in her class to be Bat Mitzvahed and people are calling me and asking who you guys were. On Monday morning I got an e-mail from one of Rebecca's classmates asking me who you guys are. Believe me, there will be plenty more to come."

"Thank you for helping to make my daughter Melyssa's Sweet 16 party (Jan. 26, 2008) a night that she will remember. The DJ-Solomon and the motivators were wonderful. There wasn't enough room on the dance floor, they had everyone involved and having a great time. I appreciate all of the help from Chris Mowery along the way. It was the best DJ experience that I have had and would not think twice about using you guys in the future. You're Awesome!"

"Stacey and I wanted to express our thanks to Denon and Doyle, and especially the crew (Solomon, Brian, Sasha, and Kate) for our Bar Mitzvah party last night. The party was fabulous, helped greatly by the music and the MC'ing. The music was perfect, the pacing was great, and you really helped make a perfect night for us and our friends. We had such a great time, and you really contributed to helping us celebrate Jacob's Bar Mitzvah with a perfect party."
- Stacey Arentzoff, Blackhawk Country Club, January 19, 2008

"The kids were busy and the party was well-paced. Our adult guests were quite impressed with the activity level Solomon and his team created for the kids and we all enjoyed the party. Most of our guests had been to many Bar Mitzvahs and felt that our entertainment was particularly appropriate and well-done. Solomon is such an up-beat guy, who really seems to like the kids and what he does. The kid liked and responded well to him. Many thanks to Solomon and the team he brought with him. We also appreciated the new "in-training" motivator. It was great to have an extra person and the kids were amazed that it was her first appearance. The motivators were all darling. We know why Denon & Doyle get the rave reviews you get in the community and we'll be sure to add our compliments and approval when the company is mentioned."
