If you looked into the way Natasha grew up, bouncing from Southern California to
Maryland to Santa Barbara back to Maryland (and on...), you might assume she's
an "armée brat" ("army brat") -- or at the very least, 'tous sur la
place ' ('all over the place') as a person. Au contraire, mon ami!
The happy feet she has are merely a matter of a curious heart and an adventuresome soul. For example, in high school she sought out a summer education program at the University of Paris IV (Sorbonne). Without knowing anyone there or having any fellow classmates to accompany her, she jetted off to The City of Lights. Her first thoughts upon arrival: 'Oh dieu!' what did I get myself into?'
Though out of her comfort zone, Natasha's warmth, curiosity and openness to new experiences quickly turned the episode magnifique. At the end of her three months she played host to her visiting family (who enjoyed the tour but didn't understand a word she said as she insisted on speaking French).
The fashion of Paris never left her. She interned for a famous dressmaker in San Francisco (who shall remain anonyme) and studied at San Francisco's Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising. Eventually though, that school went out of style and she made her way back to tres chic Pleasant Hill. She's currently studying French, Psychology and Marketing. All of which means she'll find a way to sell you a bipolar croissant in the next five years.
Lastly, you should know she's a tête rouge ('red head') and loves it. It's not that she wants to stand out or considers herself a rebel, she simply enjoys carving her own path. To that, we say 'Á la votre!' (cheers!).
